CPRS Competency Assessment ACTIVITY List

1 Renew Current Orders

2 Discontinue Current Orders

3 Review Results of Completed Orders

4 Progress Notes

  • Enter a Telephone Contact progress note from the Notes Tab.
  • Create a new telephone visit to a telephone clinic; use a diagnosis of your choice and a telephone CPT code of 99371 as the procedure for the visit.
  • View a list of Progress Notes
  • Pick one of the authors on the list of notes and display a list of all the notes by that author.

5 Write New Problems (Problem List)

  • Add a problem to the problem list on a patient.
  • Print the active problems on this patient

6 Add Allergies

7 Pharmacy Orders

  • Enter/Sign Order for any outpatient medication for hypertension or CHF.
  • Enter/Sign Order for any inpatient medication for hypertension or CHF
  • DC all IV fluid orders
  • Enter an order for IV fluids d5 ½ NS with 2g Mg, 20 meq KCL 120 cc/hr
  • Imagine that you are admitting an outpatient to the hospital. Choose one of the outpatient medications and transfer it to inpatient status.

8 Lab Orders

  • Enter/Sign Orders for a CBC & diff, Chem 7 and sputum C&S and gram stain
  • Using the orders tab, print a list of pending lab orders

9 Diet Orders

  • Enter an NPO Diet order
  • Enter a “Regular” Diet order

10 Consults

  • Request a Consult
  • Receive a Consult
  • Forward a Consult
  • Complete a Consult
  • Result Consults in Consult Tab of CPRS, in TIU, and in the Consult package
  • Define a Team for a Consult Service

11 Radiology Orders

  • Enter a radiology Order
  • Print the last radiology result

12 Nursing Orders

  • Enter an order to turn the patient
  • Display a list of active nursing orders

  • Review Outpatient RX Profile
  • Review Dietetic Profile
  • Review Lab Reports

14 Work Through Admission Order Sets

  • Place orders based on an admission order set

15 Patient Inquiry

  • Get the patient’s demographic information and find the patient’s phone number.

  • Review the patient postings for a patient

17 Enter Time-Delay Orders

  • Enter a time-delayed order for an immunization and a Pneumovax
  • Enter a time-delayed order for an imaging study.
