The login process is controlled by the XU security process of the VA KERNEL. Login requires the user of the computer to know two passwords, neither of which is visible when typed into the computer.

The first password is called the ACCESS CODE, and is typically set up by the computer support staff.

The second password is called the VERIFY CODE and is only known to the user of the computer. When the user of the computer first logs into the computer, the VERIFY CODE is blank, and the user is requested to choose a VERIFY CODE at that time.

Example of Login Process with one of the access code or verify code incorrect:

ACCESS CODE: ******
VERIFY CODE: ********

Not a valid ACCESS CODE/VERIFY CODE pair.

Example of Login Process with both access code and verify code correct:

ACCESS CODE: ******
VERIFY CODE: ************
